Rug Earth made of recycled fishing net from MUUBS.
Did you know that fishing nets accounts for 46% of plastic pollution in the oceans? The fishing nets can drift for years and be a threat to marine life. In a collaboration between MUUBS and Egetæpper, the rug Earth is created.
The carpet with pattern is made of physically and chemically rebroken fishing nets from the sea, which are subsequently transformed into strong yarn, which the large rug is woven of.
With the flat-woven Earth rug, you therefore get a sustainable textile solution for the floor, where the pattern is inspired by the surface of the Earth. Both the pattern and the raw edge of the rug are designed by MUUBS.
The rug pattern does not vary from carpet to carpet as it does on the Hudson and Missouri rug.
The rug is produced in Denmark.
